Daniyal Rashid

Daniyal Rashid heads the firm's disputes group and has served as Managing Partner since 2018. He appears as lead counsel in commercial litigation before the superior courts and as counsel in institutional and ad hoc arbitration.

His practice concentrates on high-value commercial disputes: shareholder and joint-venture breakdowns, construction and infrastructure claims, banking recovery, and enforcement of awards and foreign judgments. He is instructed frequently on urgent interim relief, where the work is decided in days rather than years.

Daniyal's approach to disputes is unfashionably document-heavy. He takes the view that most cases are won in the preparation of the evidentiary record, and that advocacy is largely the presentation of work already done. A substantial share of his matters settle on favourable terms precisely because the file is complete before the other side expects it to be.

As Managing Partner he is responsible for the firm's operations, staffing and client-service standards, and he retains a full caseload — a deliberate choice, on the basis that a managing partner who does not practise stops understanding the business.
