Zaid Hassan advises clients whose value sits in their brand, content or technology. His work spans trademark clearance and prosecution, copyright and design protection, trade-secret frameworks, and the licensing arrangements that convert those rights into revenue.

He read computer science before law, and the technology practice reflects it. Zaid handles software licensing, SaaS and platform terms, technology transfer and data-protection compliance, and is the person the corporate team calls when a diligence exercise turns up an ownership chain that does not close.

On the contentious side he runs enforcement programmes: cease-and-desist, platform takedowns, customs recordal, domain disputes and infringement proceedings — and defends clients who have received an unfounded infringement claim, which is a materially different exercise.

Zaid maintains the firm's watch and renewal system, which tracks portfolio deadlines across jurisdictions. It is unglamorous work and it prevents the most expensive category of IP mistake.
